Saw 'em live in Pasadena last night (they're up in San Jose tonight, San Francisco tomorrow, and Sacramento on Monday I think).
They had a mandola player and a bouzouki player. I really liked the picked notes combined with the chords, and then of course there was jigs where they went mach 5 with a chord on the 16ths (about 12 chords per bar) which was pretty fierce sounding.
But... the part I want to duplicate is the picked notes/with chords. Anyone have music for that sort of thing? I've seen lots of stuff which shows just chords or the music for the melody only, but not a combo thing like these guys were playing (which was all countermelodies or harmonies).
I've decided that's what I want to sound like when I play.
