Four Finger Closed position patterns for playing in different keys

Anyone have an opinion on this? I'm working hard at it and I can se a slow improvemnt in my pinkie finger.

It's not unlike piano, where some scales might start with the thumb, first finger, etc., and others might begin with the 1st or 2nd finger and there's crossovers and stuff. This is essentially saying use your pinky and learn the patterns because they're all the same. It makes sense... works on fiddle, too. Very interesting. I'll bookmark this page and come back to look at it some more. -

Wed, October 11, 2006 - 5:20 AMThere is a solid logic to it that appealed to me. Learn 4 patterns & you get all keys. It also makes it easy to play up the neck.
The hardest part for me seems to be getting the little finger conditioned enough to land true & strong.
